Company and business context: Veolia, world’s leader in environmental services (European multinational, listed, ~USD43bn annual turnover); present in Taiwan for over 30 years, with a growing portfolio of activities

Job context: part of a Finance team of around 10 people; direct reporting to the CFO of the Taiwan business unit; direct contact with the Group’s Asia Project Finance team

Location: Taipei

 

Job responsibilities

Core responsibility: to provide broad Finance support to the Taiwan’s Business Development team in relation to new projects.
● Build and review financial models; assess financial performance; analyse related risks (counterparty default, volumes, prices, cost overrun, etc)
● Advice on the financial and legal structuring (including Tax matters); review transaction documentation (share purchase agreement, shareholders agreement, service agreement, etc) and co-draft finance related clauses
● Lead the process of due diligence in case of acquisition
● Draft memorandums to the Group’s investment committees
● Participate in commercial negotiations with potential clients and M&A counterparts

Side responsibilities:
● Assist the Financial controllers in the performance follow-up of signed projects
● Assist the CFO in relations with investors
● Participate in the sourcing of bank loans and their subsequent implementation / follow up

 

Requirements

● 5 to 10 years of experience in investment finance, ideally within banks, investment funds, or transaction services from any Big 4 in relation to infrastructure projects
● Solid command of financial statements and investment finance concepts (DCF, IRR, payback, etc)
● Fluent in English and Mandarin
● Experience in financial modelling is highly desirable
● Preliminary knowledge of corporate taxes and business contracts would be a strong plus
● Ability to analyse complex financial matters and summarize them clearly
● Very detail oriented
● Dynamic and outgoing personality with positive working attitude, ready to go the extra mile
● Able to work independently and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
● Humble, flexible, able to interact with various departments in a multicultural environment
