NCCU International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) will cooperate with Taipei 101 from the next year, selecting several foreign students for internship and forming an "international think tank". IMBA will also hold a flash course at Taipei 101.The course will share the Internet of things, big data analysis and other popular issues with Taipei 101 employees and tenants aiming to create a win-win situation through the industry and academic cooperation. Through the collaboration, not only hands-on experience will be for NCCU students, but Taiwan's tourism will be brought to reach a new height.
Shang Xiaochun(尚孝純), the vice-dean of NCCU College of Commerce, said that NCCU is the most internationalized university in Taiwan; moreover, NCCU’s College of Commerce is the top institution with the highest international certification of EQUIS and AACSB. Through the cooperation with Taipei 101 this time, she looks forward to the participation of international students in the industry bringing out the academic achievements and practical experience, and she also expects to create a industry-academic win-win situation between NCCU IMBA and Taipei 101.
The international think tank will not only provide guide services in a range of languages, but also help Taipei 101 to gain latest insights on foreign travelers with their expertises. With sound understanding of needs of travelers from different nations, better marketing campaigns are expected to be operated by Taipei 101. On top of that, NCCU IMBA will also operate "flash course" in which IMBA professors and foreign students shares the applications of several trending topics, such as the Internet of things and big data analysis.
As shown in statistics, the number of Ssoutheast Asian tourists visiting Taipei 101 Observatory grows year by year, and it’s ranked the fifth among Taipei 101’s visitors. Up to this September, the number of Southeast Asian tourists grew nearly 70% compared to the same period last year, and the most of them are from Vietnam and Thailand. Zhou Deyu(周德宇), the chairman of Taipei 101, said that through the cooperation with NCCU, international students can swap ideas with front-line customer service personnel and absorb more knowledge about local culture. Furthermore, by using the mother tongue which international students are familiar with, they are expected to become the best spokesperson to promote new southbound tourism for Taiwan.
