Then came the city navigation. I couldn’t stay curled up in my room forever, right? Hahahaha… disaster! From standing on the wrong side of the bus stop, to taking the wrong bus, to translating every sign with Google Translate, that app became my new best friend as I tried to act like the adult I am.
And believe it or not, in less than 72 hours I had already visited the iconic Taipei Zoo and the momentous Taipei 101. The zoo was my favorite, seeing animals from home felt like the warm hug I didn’t know I needed.
I would leave my room at least an hour before class just to find the correct classroom on time… another disaster if you ask me😅. But through all the chaos, the people of Taiwan were incredibly warm. They could immediately tell when I was lost and confused, and they would come to my rescue without me even asking. So heartwarming, right?
Because of their kindness, I slowly eased into this new life. I realized I wasn’t alone after all… and that made everything feel possible.
See you on the next one…..
